Rimmer Construction are home builders and a full service home building and kitchen and bath remodeling company specializing in residential construction in San Diego County. The majority of our work is home remodeling ranging from kitchens and baths to complete custom home renovations. We love to tackle new home building as well and have built many new North County San Diego custom homes in the five to six thousand square foot range.

We are also more than happy to handle smaller scale North County San Diego home residential building projects and home remodeling such as room additions, decks, kitchens, baths, patios and even service calls as we realize that owning a reputable referral based company means meeting the needs of clients no matter how small the scope of work.

We are happy to provide fixed bid proposals detailing the work covered with line items for each construction or remodeling trade. We also include an allowance section that typically covers finish materials such as tile material and plumbing fixtures. This section gives clients the flexibility to choose the material of their choice with full disclosure of pricing.

We also offer time and material contracts with our management fee
charged as a percentage of the cost to build. We then fix our fee based upon the budget to eliminate the incentive to spend more of the clients’ money. This type of contract is fully transparent as we provide a running tally of the project cost as well as copies of all subcontractor invoices and materials receipts.

About Rimmer Construction


Ron Rimmer founded R. Rimmer Construction Inc. in 1980 shortly after moving to the North County San Diego area. What started as a predominantly speculative home building company in the Cardiff area evolved into a custom home builder and kitchen and bath remodeling construction company servicing North County and the greater San Diego California area. This evolution took place through the gradual development and building of a trusted client base and referrals from architects all over San Diego and the North County.

Ron has built up this exclusively referral based San Diego home building and home kitchen and bath remodeling business on a builders foundation of integrity, honesty and excellent customer service.

The quality and craftsmanship of our custom homes and kitchen and bath remodeling projects are attributed to our attention to detail and excellent rapport with our San Diego residential sub-contractors and residential home builders, who have been carefully chosen to reflect our superb home builders values in North County San Diego. We have worked with many of our San Diego tradesman and building contractors for over twenty years now.

Randy joined his father in the family home construction and kitchen and bath remodeling business in 1997 after graduating from UCSB. Having learned all aspects of residential home construction and kitchen and bath remodeling business from project management to accounting, Randy has gone on to become an invaluable member and owner of the San Diego building and kitchen and bath remodeling company.
